Custom Linux BASH Seek Cover Letter and Resume Bots, Random Stuff, and More

- this is obviously a continuation of some of my job/HR type software:
- wanted to see whether I could make a Cover Letter Bot as well. It's not that difficult? You can download it here:
- description of software is as follows:
# After building my resume maker, job application bot, and cover letter
# maker I wanted to see whether I could built a custom resume maker.
# This is the result of that particular little experiment.
#
# It works very simply. Fill in the correct variables in this script
# and it will build you resumes of various types, based on job
# class/type and provide you with short, mid, or full sized
# resumes and various output formats (Please skim through the entire script.
# Everything is there and it's pretty simple to modify to ensure you aren't
# wasting your time trying to figure something out that is obvious.).
#
# It relies on pandoc as I've discovered it's one of the more flexible
# and comprehensive markup format handlers out there.
#
# It does this to save on time and to help deal with issues during updates.
#
# When combined with an automated job application system (such as the
# one I built earlier for Seek job application website) it also helps to
# increase the chances of being able to get past any existing filtering
# systems as well.
#
# I have to admit that while the HTML output is pretty ugly the
# PDF and DOC output options are really good given how simple the code is.
# Example files were created via following command:
#
# Please note this script is only designed to work with Seek but can easily
# be modified to work with other websites.

- I used this to create a rough template for my scripts...
- the core fundamentals of this type of software isn't much different from chatbots. These are simply more primitive? There are obviously some of the bots I've looked at in the past. If you've looked through my older work you'll see that I've built stuff like this in the past as well...

Random Quotes:
- Interest in spirituality has been booming in recent years while interest in religion plummets, especially among millennials. The majority of Americans now believe it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals, a study from Pew Research Center released Wednesday found. The percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt existence of God” fell from 81% in 2007 to 67% in 2012.

Meanwhile, more than half of young adults in the U.S. believe astrology is a science. compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World.
- A statement from the company quoted Eugene as saying: "“Internet balkanisation benefits no one except cyber criminals. Reduced co-operation among countries helps the bad guys in their operations, and public-private partnerships don’t work like they should.

"The Internet was created to unite people and share knowledge. Cyber security has no borders, but attempts to introduce national boundaries in cyber space is counter-productive and must be stopped.

"We need to reestablish trust in relationships between companies, governments and citizens. That’s why we’re launching this Global Transparency Initiative: we want to show how we’re completely open and transparent. We’ve nothing to hide. And I believe that with these actions we’ll be able to overcome mistrust and support our commitment to protecting people in any country on our planet.”

But it may be that the company's initiative has come a little too late. Three reports in the three main US mainstream newspapers this month made extremely damaging allegations about the company, which Kaspersky has not directly refuted.

A report in The Wall Street Journal on 12 October hinted that Kaspersky Lab could have made available its source code to the Russian Government.

Prior to that, a report in The Washington Post on 10 October claimed that Israeli Government information security professionals had found NSA hacking tools in Kaspersky Lab's system when it gained access to the company's servers in 2014.

And The New York Times claimed on 10 October that Russian Government employees had used Kaspersky's anti-virus software to search for the code names of US intelligence programmes, while Israeli intelligence officials looked on.

iTWire sought answers to these allegations but did not receive answers that were to the point.
- As reported in Haaretz, there is just a one-letter difference in the Arabic language between a colloquial phrase for “Good morning” and another for “Attack them” — and Facebook’s automatic translation algorithms picked the wrong one when they converted the words into Hebrew.
- Dharamshala — “We will never allow anyone, any organization, or any political party, at any time or in any form, to separate any part of Chinese territory from China,” said President Xi Jinping during the opening remarks of the19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, an indication of his unchanging and harsh policies for Tibet.

Among the many territories and countries under China that seek changes in the status-quo include Tibet, Xinjiang, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Xi was especially vocal when it came to Taiwan and Hong Kong, as there were uprisings and calls for independence during his first term, though his statement is assumed to include Tibet as well.

“We will never allow anyone, any organization, or any political party, at any time or in any form, to separate any part of Chinese territory from China,” Xi said in his three and a half hour speech at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on October 19.

“We will resolutely safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity and will absolutely not tolerate the tragedy of the country’s split. Any activity aiming to split the motherland will be firmly opposed by all the Chinese people. We have a firm will, sufficient faith, and adequate capacity to defeat any intention of “Taiwan independence” in any form,” Xi said on Taiwan.

Regarding Hong Kong, the head of the regime said, “We must maintain the central authority in Hong Kong and guarantee Hong Kong’s autonomy at the same time. We must ensure that the ‘one country, two systems’ policy will not change or deform.” He reiterated that any calls for independence is out of the question.

During the party congress, Xi Jinping was consecrated as China’s most powerful leader since Mao Zedong, as the party voted unanimously to add a new body of political thought carrying Xi's name to the Communist party’s constitution. Since the Communist party of China was founded in 1921, only one leader, Mao himself, has been honored this way while still alive.

In Tibet, Xi Jinping's crackdown on corruption in the government and party during his first 5-year-tenure has been used as a tool consolidate his authority and to eliminate his opponents, pushing an anti-Dalai Lama campaign and escalating it's crackdown rather than dealing with problems relating to corruption.

Tibet was invaded by Communist China in 1949. Since that time, over 1.2 million out of only 6 million total Tibetans have been killed, over 6000 monasteries have been destroyed and acts of murder, rape, arbitrary imprisonment, torture, and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment have been inflicted on the Tibetans inside Tibet. Beijing continues to call this a "peaceful liberation."
- A quick Google of Vicks VapoRub and vagina and you’re met with an alarming number of blogs and forums that suggest the ointment can be used on your lady garden.

Yes, that’s right, the thing that you rub on your chest and dab under your nose to relieve congestion and help you breathe through the winter months on your most intimate area.

Imagine the tingling it gives you on your chest and then imagine that between your legs — that’s what gives VapoRub its sexual allure.

Some forums suggest it can be used to spice up things in the bedroom.

Rubbing it on your clitoris, or on your man’s penis, could help heat things up.

But it could help heat things up too much — we all remember the women whose vagina was “ablaze” after she used Original Source mint shower gel.

And the irritation could last for hours as the ointment is difficult to wash off.

If you want to add a little more sparkle to your sex life (without using glitter) there are a range of intimate lubricants that can give you a tingling sensation, all of which have been tested and approved for use ‘down there’.

So stick to those, it’s a much safer bet.

Let’s move on to the more alarming suggestions that VapoRub can be used to clean your vagina and maintain smell.

It has become a common misconception that women need to clean their vagina regularly and there are all sorts of weird suggestions on how to do that.

Last week it was revealed women were using peeled cucumbers to cleanse their “yoni”.

But the thing is, vaginas are self cleaning — they don’t need any extra help to keep them fresh — not even soap.
- The Russian Kilo-class submarine is nothing new. It’s been around in some form or another since the 1980s.

But Krasnodar represents a significant evolution.

Moscow’s keen to export them for desperately needed hard currency, given the swath of sanctions that have been applied against the country since it invaded Crimea in 2014.

As such, it’s marketing Krasnodar and the submarines of its class as the quietest in the world.

Russian state media claims the submarine “was dubbed ‘black hole’ by NATO.”

“That’s twaddle,” says Dr Clarke. “But it’s probably the quietest Kilo, and all powered down running just on batteries in the noisy Mediterranean, that could start to cause worry — even for NATO.”

Dr Clarke says the design of Krasnodar is interesting, and appears to be very successful.

“And the Russians will not only build more for themselves, they’ll probably be building similar vessels for others. Vietnam, Algeria, India and Iran will all be interested in that capability ... and you can be sure China wants to match it.”

“With the likes of Krasnodar now having cruise missile capability, they are pretty much the kingpin of Russia’s sea denial/anti-access forces ... a mobile minefield which is also capable of precision strike. It’s what Australia wanted from the Collins class, Japan from the Soryu’s and Israel from the Dolphins. The difference is Russia seems to have got it and are confident enough to flaunt it.”
Russia plans to build 12 of the new ‘Yasen’ class of nuclear attack submarine.

And the Russians are building two other new designs.

Both are nuclear powered.

The Borei class are Russia’s new generation of ballistic missile submarines — the cornerstone and most survivable part of its nuclear arsenal.

The hunter class, called the Yasen, is intended to destroy US aircraft carriers like USS George H.W. Bush.

And the Wall Street Journal speculates one of these — the Kazan — may have secretly shadowed the USS George H.W. Bush and Britain’s newest aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, during August exercises in the North Atlantic.

If true that presents a major step back towards the level of submarine activity that was a feature of the Cold War.

“This is something which Western navies, already visibly showing the strain of years of both constant high operation tempos and budget cuts, might find breaks them,” Dr Clarke says.
- The Lancet revealed that pollution-related diseases were responsible for an estimated 9 million premature deaths in 2015, or some 15 times more than from all wars and other forms of violence combined.

Pollution is not only the largest environmental cause of disease and premature death in the world today, the study found, but diseases caused by pollution were responsible for roughly 16 percent of all deaths worldwide—“three times more deaths than from AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined and 15 times more than from all wars and other forms of violence.”
